The Tritton 720+ gaming headset is a bit outdated but it is still a great choice for a beginner gamer who wants to get a headset on a tight budget. The Tritton 720+ has been around for at least 5 years and can only be found on eBay nowadays. This means that you will most likely have to buy the Tritton 720+in used condition. You might find this frustrating because there are many other headsets available, but if you’re looking for an inexpensive headset with some awesome, unique features then the Tritton 720+ may be your best bet!
What is the Tritton 720+ ?
The Tritton 720+ is a gaming headset that was created for the Xbox 360 and PC. The Tritton 720+ comes with 7.0 surround sound, which will give you an edge over your opponents in online games! This headset also has a noise-canceling microphone, which will allow you to communicate with other players clearly without any distortion.
So when was it released?
The parent firm Mad Catz released the Tritton 720+ in August 13, 2010, and it sought to take the lead among other popular Xbox 360 and PS3 headsets at the time.
Many individuals may claim that the Tritton 720+ has been outdated since it launched in 2010, but the headset is still compatible with current consoles (PS4, Xbox One) and gaming PCs. So, Is the Tritton 720+ a good investment in 2022?
To get a decent review of the headphones, I’ve broken down the features into categories that are essential to today’s gamers.
The Tritton 720+ gaming headset is powered by Dolby Digital 7.1-channel surround sound, which will immerse you in your games and give you a competitive edge.
These are one of the few gaming headsets on the market that includes a powered audio decoder box, which converts ordinary game sound into an immersive surround sound experience. This is what creates the Dolby Digital environment.
The amazing digital sound technology is paired with its 50mm speakers to offer a great range of sounds and bass. So, whether you’re creeping through the jungle in Battlefield or racing down the streets in Forza Horizon, the Tritton 720+ will deliver an accurate and realistic soundscape for your ears only!
I did notice one oddity with the audio experience when using these headphones.. It’s that rather than a leather-like covering, the over-ear headphones have a foam/cloth covering, which allows sound to escape more freely and is not optimal for sound cancellation.
One of the most important features of a gaming headset is the microphone.
The Tritton 720+ is perfect for gamers who are just starting out in competitive games because it offers great quality sound for voice chat. The 720+ also comes with a noise-canceling microphone that will allow you to communicate with other players clearly without any distortion or background noise.
This means that your teammates may have an easier time understanding what you are saying after you switch from another gaming headset with an inferior microphone.
Detachable and adjustable mic
The microphone is also adjustable, so you can position it in the best place for your voice. It’s also detachable allowing you to fully remove it whenever you like or even replace it in the future.
Hear your voice through the headset
The microphone ensures that you can communicate with other players without any distortion or background noises, while the adjustable mic helps position it in just the right spot so your voice comes through crystal clear! You’ll love its detachable feature as well; remove it whenever and replace if ever necessary- no lost screws here folks!.
Selectable voice monitoring
The headset also features a Selectable voice monitoring (SWM) feature, which will allow you to hear your voice through the headset. This is great for helping you to sound more confident and making sure that your voice is at the right level while communicating with other players and when certain situations – – like those late-night gaming sessions – – dictate that you talk softly or loudly into the mic, easily activate/deactivate SVM to avoid yelling at your teammates.
Tritton 720+ Chat Voice Isolation
You can’t speak of modifying voice levels without discussing this headset’s function to isolate game and chat audio on the fly so that you can hear only your teammate’s voices or only what’s happening in-game.
In conclusion, the microphone capabilities on this Tritton 720+ headset are its best and include things that even today’s headsets don’t offer.
Comfort and affordability are what this headset is made of. The headphones are made out of plastic, but they feel durable and will withstand some wear and tear.
The 720+’s ear cups are also quite roomy. Despite the fact that the cloth covering on the ear cups may allow sound to escape. The cloth makes it simpler for my ears to breathe, allowing me to wear them for hours without feeling much discomfort.
This gaming headset has a lot of connections due to its external audio decoder, power cord, and 12-foot cable. While this might not be an issue for some individuals, it can be a nuisance for others. I have a pretty small desk myself so I did find it a hassle. If you have a tiny workstation, it may also become clunky when trying to fit everything together on your desk.
In my experience, the microphone isn’t particularly long-lasting; in fact, after months of use, I observed that the microphone (or mic jack) began to malfunction and eventually break down.
Even looking at amazon reviews, I’m seeing a trend where the microphone deteriorates with time. This is most likely due to the detachable mic feature.
Tritton 720+ Compatibility
|PS5||NO (No Optical audio output )|
|PS5 Pro||NO (No Optical audio output )|
|box one s||YES|
The Tritton 720+ has some really interesting features that make it stand apart from other gaming headsets. One awesome feature is the 7.1 surround sound audio system by Dolby Digital, which helps to give you a 3D experience without any additional equipment or software needed! The removable microphone also lets gamers hear themselves in a play-aloud mode so they’re never lost on voice chat again (or vice versa). A must-have for your next video game date night!!
Some pros and cons of about this product include:
If you’re a gamer who needs a new headset on a tight budget, the Tritton 720+ is worth it. The mic isn’t particularly long-lasting but if you don’t need to speak with other players often or use voice chat, this may not be an issue for you. You should also consider how many wires are going to be running from your desk before investing in this product because there will likely be more cables than what most gamers might want. If these aren’t too big of an issue and 7.1 surround sound interests you (and why wouldn’t it?), then Tritton 720+ gaming Headset is definitely worth considering!
